Green Mountain - Hazardous Millitary-Munitions

The Colorado Department of Health and the Environment recently learned that pieces of spent artillery shells from prior to World War II have been found on the north slopes of the William Frederick Hayden Park (Green Mountain) open space. This can indicate the potential that other, more dangerous military munitions-related items could be in the open space. The state is asking visitors to Green Mountain to retreat from any items they suspect might be old munitions and to call 911.
