The 3rd annual South Platte River Cleanup is on Sunday, April 26th in celebration of Earth Day in Denver, Colorado. This is an all volunteer event to pick up trash along the South Platte River and Bike Paths.Last year, we saw over 200 rafters, kayakers, cyclists and pedestrians that successfully removed over 2 TONS of garbage from the river and bike path. The event garnered local and regional media coverage as the lead story on several news channels, as well as appearing on the front page of the Rocky Mountain News the following day. This year we anticipate an even larger turnout.
We will be starting at Grant-Frontier Park located at Evans and South Platte Dr. Registration starts at 9:00 am and we will start the cleanup at 11:00
am. There will be a free BBQ at the take out, City of Cuernavaca Park,
starting at 3:00 and participant raffle starting at 4:00. There is no available
parking at Grant-Frontier Park, but there will be a complimentary shuttle
from City of Cuernavaca Park Downtown, where there is ample parking
(even for trailers). The shuttle will be running from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
